COST OF ATTENDANCE

The Cost of Attendance is intended to help you build a budget and ensure you have a plan for the nine-month academic year. Standard expenses include the cost of tuition, fees, books and supplies for two semesters of full-time enrollment, as well as an allowance for food, housing, and other personal expenses based on where you plan to live while in school.

We include the following elements in our Cost of Attendance:

      • Tuition and Fees
      • Housing and Food  (Living Expenses)
      • Transportation
      • Books, Course Materials, Supplies, and Equipment
      • Personal Expenses
      • Direct Loan origination fees (are only included for those that borrow)

You may also use our Net Price Calculator  for an estimated cost of attendance.

Please note: the estimated costs will be prorated based on a student's actual enrollment status.  For example, the COA estimates in certain categories (such as tuition and fees, books and supplies, and transportation) for a half-time student enrolled in 6 - 8 credits will be half of the estimates for a full-time student.  Additionally, the COA for students enrolled in less than six (6) credits will include only estimates for tuition and fees, books and supplies, and transportation.

2025-2026 COST OF ATTENDANCE - Full year (fall/spring)

The annual Cost of Attendance is based on living arrangement, residency, and full-time enrollment (30 credits) for two semesters fall and spring. Individual programs or coursework may have additional fees associated.

Financial Aid budget adjustment

Cost of Attendance Appeal (Budget Appeal)

The Financial Aid Office (FAO) may be able to increase a student’s COA if they have allowable expenses that are incurred during the academic year that are either not already included in the standard COA or are larger than what is included in the standard student budget. The following expenses are examples of expenses that can be considered.

      • Computer Purchase
      • Dependent Care Expenses
      • Other Educational Expenses

A Cost of Attendance Appeal allows for but does not guarantee that additional financial aid will be awarded. Supporting documentation must be submitted with each appeal to verify the paid expenses and must be in the student’s name. If your request results in increased eligibility for aid, you may receive additional assistance if funds are available. Budget adjustment requests are evaluated only after the original FAFSA, and all supporting documents have been reviewed. Contact the Financial Aid Office at (906) 307-1206 or FAO@gogebic.edu for additional information regarding adjustments.
