2024-2027 Strategic Plan
In 2023, the Strategic Planning Team of Gogebic Community College was created. Throughout the entire year, the Strategic Planning Team reviewed the colleges' mission, vision, and core values and feedback was solicited and received from students, staff, and community members. The feedback was used to create the goals and framework to build the colleges' next Strategic Plan and formal presentation to the Board of Trustees in August, 2024. The three main goals for the Strategic Plan are; Enhance Student Experience, Expand Academic Programming & Services, and Increase Community and Campus Experience.
The Strategic Plan 2024-2027 was approved by the Board of Trustees and implementation of the plan began in August 2024. We are proud of the strong participation rate among faculty and staff who serve on teams to fulfill the goals of the plan.
Goal 1: Enhance Student Experience
♦ Increase the opportunities for students participating in extra and co-curricular activities.

♦Identify opportunities to improve the Lindquist Student & Conference Center to enhance the student experience and invest in facilities.

Goal 2: Expand Academic Programming & Services
♦ Develop an innovation team to support and grow programming.
Team Co-Leads: Beth Steiger and Maria Sokol
♦ Expand Houghton Copper Country Center Offerings and Services - Cultivate and nurture partnerships and grow number serving for long term sustainability.

Goal 3: Increase Community and Campus Experience
♦ Audit college processes to improve internal metrics regarding employee satisfaction, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, and retention.
Team Co-Leads: Darlene Begalle and Michelle Wasielewski
♦ Evaluate and Update Facilities - align activities with Campus Master Plan/Be Green. Determine priority of projects and level of financial commitment.
