Shannon Anderson, Financial Aid Counselor, and Kari Klemme, Marketing Strategist, both current employees at Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, recently completed the 2023-2024 Michigan Community College Association (MCCA) Leadership Academy in Lansing, MI with 36 other individuals from 24 community colleges.

The leadership academy is a hands-on, Michigan-specific professional development program for emerging leaders in the community college sector. Participants are nominated by their community college President. The nine-month cohort learning journey includes six live sessions with action-based learning projects in between, experiential learning activities, coaching and mentoring, and a capstone graduation experience at the annual MCCA Student Success Summit.

“We are extremely proud of Shannon and Kari for their achievements. Their hard work and dedication reflect GCC’s mission to be a learning community which contributes to the success of our students and surrounding communities. We look forward to seeing Shannon and Kari apply their newly acquired skills to drive positive change, support our students and staff, and further our mission at GCC,” said Chris Patritto, GCC President.
