LPN-RN-Program

Associate of Applied Science LPN to RN Advanced Standing Option - 1.5 years

The following requirements must be completed prior to admission to the core nursing classes. 

Pre-Nursing – Phase 500N

  • ORI 100 Freshman Orientation – 1 Credit
  • BIO 250 Human Anatomy – 4 Credits (good for 7 years)
  • BIO 251 Human Physiology – 4 Credits (good for 7 years)
  • ENG 101 English Composition – 3 Credits
  • PSY 101 General Psychology – 4 Credits
  • Test in at a Math 104 or complete math 103 with a C or higher
  • Current Licensure as a LPN

Fall Semester – Second Year

  • Humanities Course – 3 credits
  • NUR 240 – Concepts of Nursing Practice in the Care of Adults with Stable and Unstable Conditions 5 Credits (4-3-0)
  • NUR 241 – Clinical Experience of Nursing Practice II – 4 Credits
  • NUR 242 – Transition to RN Program -1 credit

Spring Semester – Second Year

  • NUR 244 – Concepts of Nursing Practice in the Care of Patients Across the Lifespan with Complex Conditions – 4 Credits (4-0-0)
  • NUR 245 – Clinical Experience of Complex Patients - 4 Credits
  • NUR 246 – Transition to Nursing Practice – 2 Credits
  • Communications – 3 Credits

Total Credits for the Associate Degree Program: 64 credits

 Students entering into the program must meet admission requirements outlined in the Nursing Admission Policy to be eligible for admission. This includes HESI, licensure, and GPA requirements.   Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to take the NCLEX-RN Exam for licensing as an RN.
