GCC Celebrates 85 Years of Quality Education!

GCC celebrates 85 years of quality education during the "8th" week of the semester for "5" days.

Monday, October 16, FREE Cookout - brats/hot dogs/chips/cookies/pop cookout from 11:30 am -1:30 pm on the Lindquist Student & Conference Center patio near the student lounge. WIMI-FM/WJMS-AM will be broadcasting Live from campus. This event is FREE and open to the public. Individuals attending this event can spin the prize wheel for a chance to win some fantastic prizes from GCC and other area businesses. Staff will also be available to give campus tours to those interested. 

Tuesday, October 17GCC Selfie contest will run through Friday, Oct. 20 ending at 4pm. Students will have to find 5 of 8 locations around campus. They need to take a selfie at the location and post it to social media using #GCC85 to be entered into a contest to win an amazon echo, Fitbit charge or GCC Gear. The photos of the locations will be posted on flyers around campus the week of Oct. 16-20.   

Wednesday, Oct. 18National Chocolate Cupcake Day – Chocolate cupcakes for students to enjoy in the lounge across from the ACES center.

Thursday, Oct. 19Samson Tri-3 Challenge 11am -1pm. Each student has one chance to play and make all three shots: one layup, one free throw and one three pointer. No second chances. Winners will receive a gift certificate to the bookstore. This event is open to all students and any high school students who are at GCC during this time. Free pizza and pop, water 

GCC will also host the Foundations 22nd Annual “Celebration of Achievements” Banquet on Thursday, October 19, 2017 in the David G. Lindquist Student and Conference Center.

This year’s honorees include Distinguished Alum Matt Kurta, Class of ’01, Friends of the College Ron & Carol Trethewey and The Gogebic Range Band. A reception will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the student lounge of the Lindquist Center with a catered dinner to be served at 6:30 p.m. The awards program will follow. The public is invited to attend! Tickets can be purchased from any Foundation Board member or call (906) 307-1201. Tickets are $30.00 each.

Friday, Oct. 20 – Build your own ice cream sundaes with 85 toppings from 11am - 1pm in the Lindquist Student Center lounge.
