GCC Cross Country Running
Coach: Chris Tweiten
Chris Tweiten is entering his first year as Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach for Gogebic Community College. Chris served as the Head Cross Country Coach for the Wakefield-Marenisco School District for the 2013 season, and was the Head Cross Country Coach for the Hurley School District for five seasons prior. During his tenure at Hurley his varsity girl’s team earned three conference titles, one sectional title, three Wisconsin state appearances, and Chris earned four Indianhead Conference Coach of the Year awards. Chris also has experience coaching soccer and basketball for the Hurley School District.
Chris is a graduate of Ironwood High School. He attended Gogebic Community College, finished baccalaureate degrees at Michigan State University and Northland College, and completed his graduate certification at the University of Wisconsin-Steven’s Point.
Student-Athlete Physical Form
Student-athletes at Gogebic Community College must receive a satisfactory sports physical prior to participating in any intercollegiate sports activity. Before a student-athlete may practice, he/she must have this physical form on file with the Athletic Director. Completion of this physical is the responsibility of the student-athlete prior to the beginning of the sport season. Please note: a successfully passed physical is valid for the academic year. Cross Country Running Team
2015-2016 Cross Country Running Schedule
The team will compete in a collegiate cross-country running meet across the upper Midwest. All travel expenses, entry fees and team uniforms will be covered by the college.
