Gogebic Community College Foundation Hosts ‘Taste of Gogebic Range’
“If you are interested in more than a dozen different restaurants and caterers all in one place at one time offering samples of their house specialties or new menu items for one low ticket entry price,” explained Kelly Marczak, Gogebic Community College Foundation Director, “then you need to come to the 5th Annual Taste of the Gogebic Range!”
The Gogebic Community College Foundation is hosting the 5th annual ‘Taste of the Gogebic Range’ on Monday, April 28, 2014 in the David G. Lindquist Student Center. This event features samplings and offerings of food and beverages from area restaurants, businesses and caterers. Samples include soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, beverages and desserts.
A social hour will be offered from 5 – 6 p.m., with the ‘Taste’ available from 6 – 8 p.m. Coffee and punch will be available free of charge, beer and wine will be available for purchase.
There will be two contests going on during the event. The ‘Tasters’ Choice Award’ will be voted on by the attendees, and the ‘Best of Show Award’ will be decided by special judges. Booths will be judged on overall display, presentation of food samples, and taste. Trophies and bragging rights are awarded to the winners!
“We are fortunate to have our local businesses that participate in this fundraiser and support the GCC Foundation,” said Marczak. “It’s a win-win; the restaurants and caterers get to promote their talents and the attendees get the opportunity to try new dishes and businesses. This year we also have local businesses that have generously donated gift certificates for our door prizes so there is even more opportunity to visit the businesses.”
Tickets are limited and are by advance purchase only at a cost of $20 per person. There will be no ticket sales at the door. Contact the GCC Foundation Office at (906) 932-4231, ext. 201, to reserve your tickets today.
All proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the Gogebic Community College Foundation. The Gogebic Community College Foundation was established in 1977 as a non-profit corporation and exists solely for the support and development of the College and its mission.
